The challenge:

Before switching to QFloors, Seland’s Abbey Flooring Center faced significant operational challenges. Owner Rich Seland recalls the difficulty of managing time-consuming data entry and complex pricing and product updates using generic accounting software. Without electronic B2B integration, every supplier’s product catalog had to be manually updated and maintained in Excel. With over 20,000 SKUs, the workload was so extensive that a dedicated part-time employee was needed just to keep up.

Over time, there just seemed to be more and more that needed to be maintained, Seland said.

The breaking point came during a sales tax audit, when the team realized their software couldn’t easily track certain critical items, such as use tax, without significant manual effort.

We knew we had to find a system that could handle these requirements automatically—without us spending hours and hours on it, Seland explained.
