The QFloors Story
Transforming the flooring industry one customer at a time.
It's making other people and other businesses successful,
that's what
- Trent Ogden, CFO
we're all about, and I think that defines our success.
QFloors was born from a family flooring business’ frustration with the software options available. Two brothers, one a computer engineer and the other an accountant, set out to build something better.
Today, the company (now united with Roomvo) is a leader in flooring technology solutions, driven by a fierce commitment to helping dealers succeed.

1954
First Generation:
A Rancher Turns Retailer
Ironically, it all started with sheep. But not in the sheep-makes-wool-makes carpet way. Dale Ogden, the paternal grandfather of QFloors founders Trent and Chad Ogden, owned a sheep ranch in the mountains of rural Utah.
After a string of particularly bad winters killed off a large number of sheep, Dale was ready for a new career path. And so in 1954, he loaded up the family, moved to Southern California, and opened the Broadloom City carpet store.

Second Generation:
Building Ogden's Carpet Outlet
Years later, Steve followed in his footsteps. In 1974, Steve founded Ogden's Carpet Outlet (later Ogden's Flooring & Design), and the business quickly grew. Today there are 14 Ogden's Flooring & Design franchises.

Third Generation:
Learning the Ropes of the Flooring Industry
As the third generation in the flooring industry, both Chad & Trent Ogden grew up helping in the family business. At age 12, they worked in the warehouse, rolling remnants.
At 16, they were delivering furniture to customers or measuring homes for flooring. (Chad even detoured to fit in a carpet mesaure during his date to the Junior Prom... an early sign of his devotion to the industry.)
1988
Laying the Subfloor for Software
As a young adult, Chad stepped away from flooring to focus on technology, and obtained a degree in Computer Engineering. He spent a decade working in computer hardware and software, eventually becoming the Director of Engineering at a firm specializing in cutting-edge mass spectrometers.
In the meantime, Trent continued working with his father in their floor covering business, finding his niche as an accountant and controller. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and then an MBA.
1995
The Need and Vision
Trent and Steve recognized they needed flooring software that could automate and streamline tasks. They wanted a tool that would foster best business practices and quickly help them generate accurate, financial statements.
Trent also knew that for flooring software to truly make an impact, it had to be easy to learn and use, since many employees in their now-franchised stores were not tech-savvy.
1998
What Happened in Vegas
Trent and Steve asked Chad, with his programming expertise, to help them find the right software. They went to the Surfaces (TISE) tradeshow multiple years in a row, looking for a system that fit their needs.
One night in Las Vegas, after another fruitless day of searching, Chad took a pen to paper. He stayed up all night, plotting out the main screens of QFloors and how they would all work together. That sketch grew into flooring software embraced by over a thousand businesses, because it works the way flooring dealers actually do.

Customer-Centric Focus Fuels Growth
QFloors officially launched in late 1999. Of course, building the business wasn’t all smooth sailing. There were sleepless nights, significant sacrifices, and missed paychecks along the way.
But through it all, Chad remembers telling Trent,
I think we’re helping people. We’re making a difference for
these businesses.
And that understanding gave them the hope and stamina to stay the
course.
That customer-centric focus helped QFloors grow a large and remarkably loyal client base and staff. In 2024, the company was recognized with the World Floor Covering Association’s Tom Jennings Champion Award for exceptional customer service.

Dealer Power:
Joining Forces with Roomvo
In January 2025, QFloors was purchased by Leap Tools, Inc., dba Roomvo, a Toronto-based company recognized for its leading-edge visualization technology and explosive growth.
At the time, there was a great amount of consolidation happening within the flooring industry, often negatively impacting the individual dealer. Trent and Chad recognized some of these challenges, and made the decision to partner with Roomvo. With both companies being privately held and entirely self-funded, no one was beholden to stockholders, boards, or outside entities. Decisions could be made based on what was best for the flooring dealer.
During the press conference announcing the merger, Roomvo CEO
Pawel Rajszel held up the pen used to seal the deal, and showed
its engraving of the words, “Dealer Power.” Pawel said,
This pen is like our deal here, it represents our long-term
commitment to the industry.
